acrylics

Acrylic invites me to be daring in use of color and large brushstroke. As with pastels, I usually complete in situ sketches and gather digital images for reference later. In the studio, I review these, set them aside, and then allow a landscape to flow from the brush. Some places that have inspired my acrylics are Northern New Mexico; Yosemite; Vermont; Mendocino, Kaua'i; Stradbroke Island and Uluru, Australia; and Santa Cruz, California.
